About Vasilis Karastergios Mba, Msc
I am a Mechanical Engineer (MSc) with a long experience in various working environments and a strong desire for continuous self-growth and career advancement. Shortly after I started working, I entered the Economics University to steer my professional career to a management-oriented path. I graduated from the School of Economics and Business with a Bachelor’s in Business Economics and completed my managerial education with a Master’s in Business Administration (MBA). I have enjoyed a progressively responsible engineering and managerial career, which gave me the opportunity to get involved with all phases of Product Development, from conceptual design, to manufacturing and managing a large scale of engineering projects in different disciplines. I am committed to the challenge of effectively combining the Engineering and Business Management Academic backgrounds.As a PTC Certified Instructor for Creo Parametric and Windchill, I have advanced experience in CAD, CAM, CAE and PLM Digital Engineering technologies. My background helped me gain knowledge of product design, and at the same time, a thorough understanding of manufacturing processes and their efficient management. I have carried out many projects related to the Digital Transformation of manufacturing companies, as well as Design, Manufacturing and Reverse Engineering projects, for different kinds of industry sectors such as Mining, Electrical & Industrial Equipment, Oil & Gas, and Military & Defense. In my current job, I have worked as an Applications Engineer for 13 years for 4th Dimension Technologies, adding also management responsibilities throughout the years. My main concern is the integration and harmonization of Digital Engineering technologies, tailored to the production processes of our clients. My role involves the management of Digital Transformation projects, including digital Design, Manufacturing, Engineering, and Product Lifecycle Management software, with an Industry 4.0 oriented principle. As a technical manager, I am responsible for the management of design and RE projects and the provision of solutions related to products’ design, analysis, optimization, manufacturing, and management in a PLM environment.In my previous jobs, I have worked for more than 5 years in the construction sector, primarily as a Senior Design Engineer and as a Production Manager. My role initially involved analytical product design, but very quickly my responsibilities extended to the organization, supervision & management of the workforce and the manufacturing processes of the production line.
