I am my library https://nvasil.libib.com/I have spent the last 15 years very close to the advances of Artificial Intelligence, participating in the best AI conferences (NrIPS, ICML, ICLR, UAI) as a PC member and workshop organizer, while at the same time transferring the knowledge to industrial-strength products. I enjoy building teams with junior data scientists and interns, mentoring them so that they can accelerate their career development. I have supervised tens of interns and Ph.D. students while developing actual platforms. I like working with people who are not the best but who want to become the best. In the competitive world of hi-tech and startups, the best way to build talented teams is to grow them organically. Transforming software engineers, master students into data scientists, and helping students to shape their Ph.D. has been the most rewarding thing for me. While a lot of companies are struggling to go remote, I have been working remotely for my whole career. I know the pitfalls and how to avoid them.I have designed and implemented complicated machine learning platforms and models from scratch all the way to production. In the age of big digital garbage and incredible scientific noise in academic publications, my mission is to discover algorithms and techniques that make sense and work. Discovery is probably the easiest step but not enough. I spend time implementing what I find interesting.
