Dr Vasudevan (Vasu) leads the Aviation, Travel and Tourism business for ICF in India and APAC. He will be responsible for expanding ICF's business in these fast growing markets and anchor the firm's strategic growth initiatives and advisory work for clients in the region. Prior to joining ICF, Vasu led the aviation business for KPMG in India and was the Airport Sector Lead for KPMG’s global network. Vasu has advised several governments, transport authorities, financing institutions, airport owners, operators and infrastructure sector stakeholders on policy, strategy, finance, operations, procurement and transaction related solutions. He has worked extensively with aviation and transport sector clients in the UAE, Saudi Arabia, Indonesia, Singapore, Thailand, Vietnam, Bhutan, Qatar and Oman on airport development strategies, economic analysis, financial solutions, operational transformation strategies, policy and regulatory reforms, techno-commercial feasibility studies and PPP transactions related procurement and business advisory solutionsHe has been actively engaged on various policy and regulatory matters in aviation and privatization of infrastructure in the wider transport sector, for over two decades.Vasu led project teams that successfully advised the Maharashtra and Goa governments on Greenfield airport PPP concessionaires in Navi Mumbai, Mopa and Jewar (Noida International Airport) on various regulatory and operational solutions. He is also actively involved with Airports Authority of India and all private airport companies in India in supporting their growth and operational improvement initiatives. Internationally, Vasu has advised the Royal Thai Navy on the structuring of the U-Tapao airport transaction, preparation of a 5-year business plan for Angkasapura-1, the civil aviation authority in Indonesia, a middle-eastern sovereign fund to privatize a regional airport in the UAE and the Abu Dhabi Airport Company (ADAC) in delivering a bespoke activity based costing framework as a domain expert. He is recognized as a thought leader in the industry and publishes his views in the media frequently.
