Vaughan is a projects and transactions lawyer with a focus on natural resources and infrastructure. He has more than 27 years' experience, and is Head of Corrs' Papua New Guinea Practice. Vaughan shares his time between Port Moresby and Brisbane having been resident in Port Moresby for more than 10 years. Vaughan is a citizen of both Australia and Papua New Guinea.Vaughan has been described as being 'absolutely commercial with a first class commercial approach' and has been consistently ranked as a tier 1 leading individual in Chambers Global since 2006.Vaughan advises Oil Search on its PNG interests (including PNG LNG, Papua LNG, P'nyang LNG), and has previously advised ExxonMobil as operator of the PNG LNG Project. He also advises various other oil and gas companies including Twinza Oil. In the minerals sector, Vaughan is advising, Newcrest Mining and Harmony Gold on their world class Wafi-Golpu copper and gold project. Vaughan's corporate and financial services clients include Kina Securities, Kina Bank, Credit Corporation, Bank of South Pacific, Kina Asset Management, ANZ, Westpac, PNG Forest Products, Paradise Fooods, NASFUND and TropicAir.In Australia, Vaughan was the lead legal adviser to Shell Australia on its 20-year retail fuel Alliance with Coles Express. Vaughan also advised Shell Australia, United Energy and Woodside on their divestment of Pulse Energy to AGL for A$890 million.Vaughan is a Papua New Guinea Lawyer admitted in the National Court of Papua New Guinea. Vaughan is also an Australian Legal Practitioner admitted in the Supreme Courts of Victoria, Queensland and Western Australia, and in the High Court of Australia.Vaughan is a Vice President of the Australia Papua New Guinea Business Council.
