Match Day Safety OfficerLiverpool Football Club Nov 2014 - Mar 2018Anfield Liverpool. My role involved primarily running Anfield on a match day in compliance with the General Safety Certificate, Green Guide and the Clubs Safety Policy. I managed a team of around 750 stewards on a match day, had control of a substantial budget (£3.5m) and dealt with high profile partners to deliver a first class experience for fans visiting Anfield. My team assisted the club to win the ‘Visit Football’ customer service competition for the past two seasons and are leading the table again this season. I have introduced many initiatives to bring the stewarding operation into the 21st Century including new uniform and allowing supervisors to manage their teams. During construction of the New Main Stand, my team worked closely with the construction team, Local Authority and Emergency Services to keep the old stand open throughout the whole construction phase, only losing approximately 200 seats. During the close season in 2017, there were a further 64 wheelchair bays added to the stadium and this required a dedicated team to be developed to manage the numerous Accessible bays around the whole stadium. I also introduced a team of stewards to manage queues on the concourses, this has had the effect of increasing revenue and spend per Head. I have developed some great working relationships with the Local Authority, Merseyside Police and other members of the Safety Advisory group as well as with UEFA officials during European competitions. -
