After working as a Fauna Spotter Catcher on a contract basis with various companies, I decided it was time to branch out and start an environmental consulting company of my own. Petrichor was founded in 2012, with a commitment to ethical and meaningful wildlife conservation, working on various industry & governmental contracts across Australia. Some of the skills during my role as Managing Director included:• Maintaining comprehensive governmental & client fauna databases• Contract negotiations with potential & established clients;• HR and employee management including OHSE, payroll & rostering;• Cultivation & implementation of safe work methodologies for the correct handling of wildlife

At the end of 2017, I decided to close down my business to pursue a long-burning passion to become a wildlife & conservation photographer. I am blessed to be able to regularly visit remote locations and capture moments that many others may never have the opportunity to witness. I am honoured to have had my work published, and it is truly a privilege to be able to donate my work to various conservation projects for their marketing & social media channels. It is my way of supporting the vital work they do.

I left the zoological industry to pursue a career as an environmental professional, working as a terrestrial Fauna Spotter Catcher in the Coal Seam Gas industry, as well as a Marine Fauna Spotter for the WICET project as part of the Gladstone Harbour upgrade. I was able to obtain hands on experience catching and relocating a wide variety of native species, in very remote locations.

After a number of years working as a zookeeper at Australia Zoo, I decided to pursue my lifelong goal of becoming a Big Cat Handler. I was fortunate enough to achieve this dream, and became a handler working with Bengal and Sumatran tigers. The role comprised of various tasks, including but not limited to:• conducting veterinary procedures & general health checks;• hand-raising cubs from an early age, through to adulthood;• maintaining high standards & safety of enclosures & exhibits;• close quarters, hands on training with adult big cats;• overseeing & administering medicine;• daily transportation of exotic animals;• conducting daily exercise & enrichment for the animals.
