Since joining Jaguar Land Rover I have led teams both in program delivery and core climate engineering. I work on all our future vehicles refining our vision and strategic direction while leading the engineers who are designing, integrating and validating the associated vehicle thermal systems and hardware. I find it enormously satisfying to see our people developing alongside our new vehicles at a time when the automotive world is changing more rapidly than it ever has before.Jaguar Land Rover is the UK’s largest automotive manufacturing business, built around four iconic British car brands: Range Rover, Defender, Discovery and Jaguar. Holden is one of General Motors fully-integrated global operations. It designed, built and sold vehicles for Australia and the world from its headquarters in Melbourne, Australia.In this role my primary focus was on creating a motivated and engaged team that delivered excellent results for all the projects we worked on. I managed a team of skilled engineers working on multiple vehicles and commodities and was responsible for their leadership, development and coaching. From a business perspective I was directly responsible to forecast and manage a budget of AUD 4 mill pa.My team designed, developed and was responsible for the quality of components for:• Powertrain Cooling Systems (vehicle airflow / heat exchangers / fluids and fluid transport / refrigerant cycle and compressor)• Climate Control Systems (cabin airflow / heating and refrigeration / occupant interfaces / electronic climate control calibrations)• Thermal Integration (management of all thermal interface issues eg. Exhaust/Engine/Turbo/etc.)We led the architectural development for GM’s next generation of global mid-size car platform.

Following my GM Brasil assignment I became the business manager for the Chassis/Thermal and Powertrain integration departments.My primary achievements in this role were…• Strengthening company EBIT performance by leading a major cost reduction drive on Holden’s locally manufactured vehicles.• Creation of a simple seven step process for cost reduction idea generation and implementation. Principles utilised were pareto targeting / cost driver and value chain analysis and enterprise cost principles. This process was so successful that it was implemented across the organisation.• Implementing an improved cost reduction tracking system to enable an efficient interface between design release engineers and the global systems and organisation.• Leading global and local actions on field warranty and quality to rapidly address customer issues.• Management of all three departmental budgets totalling AUD 11mill per annum to achieve corporate targets.

This role was an International Assignment as a Senior Engineering Group Manager and Thermal Systems Engineer.My primary achievements in this role were…• Successfully completing eight major vehicle launches.• Acting Director of the Thermal group.• Leading the Global Mid-size Truck thermal architectural work completing all deliverables for vehicle program initiation (VPI).• Leading the transfer of thermal engineering for the Mid-Size Truck from Brazil to the US. This involved driving communication between the various regional Managers and Engineers to ensure necessary resources were assigned and a fully documented and seamless transfer of responsibilities and information occurred.• Mentoring the Brasil Thermal team, with careful resource management, through a period of significant change and organisational downsizing.• Coaching and rebuilding the HVAC team after the reorganisation to exceed its previous capabilities.• Learning Portuguese

Reporting to the Global Vehicle Chief Engineer and Holden's Chassis/Thermal Director I represented the Chassis & Thermal departments on all vehicle teams (Program, Integration & Studio). Reporting to the Engineering Manager of Holden's Powertrain Cooling group I was responsible for liaison between General Motors North America and Holden on the Global Rear Wheel Drive large car platform.My primary achievements in this role were…• Managing all communication between Holden and GM North America Thermal engineering on issues related to Holden’s export programs.• Designing powertrain cooling systems for Global Rear Wheel Drive programs.

Reporting to the Thermal, Aero and Climate Control System Engineering Managers I led the design and development of Climate Control Systems for Light Commercial Vehicles.My primary achievements in this role were…• Successfully establishing and leading Climate Control Attribute teams.• Interfacing with the Studio on design criteria and clay feasibility signoff.• Managing homologation (type approval) testing.• Developing system and component validation plans.• Conducting wind tunnel and on road testing to meet vehicle development milestones.
