I am a Manager of Infrastructure at OpenText/AppRiver running everything from the datacenter colo space, to the hardware running there, to the VMs running on the hardware, to the applications on the VMs, all while interfacing with our development team to architect, design, and deploy our spam filtering product for millions of mailboxes.Overall, I'm a performance driven leader with proven track record of operationalizing strategy to deliver value. I develop operational end-to-end processes to ensure efficient and effective technology enablement and proven secure environments and tools. I successfully navigate acquisition landscapes to integrate disparate technology applications and tools.I started with AppRiver in 2010 and moved the company from a managed hosting setup to a colocation environment. This transformed our deployment model and quickly cut our price per server in half as I taught my team the intricacies of hosting our own gear in a datacenter. We expanded our footprint in 2012 to Switzerland to become an international company and deployed systems there as well.Zix acquired AppRiver in 2019 and I concentrated on integrating our systems with them and took over running their Microsoft systems. I also handled datacenter migrations, consolidating our footprint to reduce running costs migrating our datacenters into theirs where they requested us. I also altered our processes to become SOC2 compliant.OpenText acquired Zix in 2021, and while my daily job responsibilities of running our spam filtering platform have not changed, I've worked with OpenText's teams to integrate their systems and standards. Previous experience includes starting at Rackspace in 2006 as a Level 2 technician and working my way up to Senior Systems Engineer. I was the lead tech for the largest customer at Rackspace during my tenure, handled level testing, and helped start our Managed Cloud offering.My passion is taking existing systems and making them better. This can be everything from an underperforming team to a process that's broken. I love figuring out complex problems and then executing on the plan to resolve the issue.
