I received the "Award of Merit" from the New York Institute of Photography, for "Cloud Sails,” on August 10, 2010. I graduated from the New York Institute of Photography, in “The Complete Course of Professional Photography,” a 270 hour course, on December 20, 2011. I had a solo art exhibition of my large landscape photographs (24” x 36”) at the SoDu Gallery, in Key West, Florida from January 4, 2013 until January 16, 2013.On August 12, 2013 "Spectacular Key West," my 80 page, hardcover photobook was published by Key West Publishing, LLC. The 2nd Edition of “Spectacular Key West” was released in February 2015, after the 1st Edition sold out. From August of 2013 until May of 2018 I sold 4,000 “Spectacular Key West” books, in a handful of gift shops in Key West. The book is still available on Amazon.com.In April, 2014 I was the cover photographer, and featured photographer in the city guide magazine “The Essential Guide to Historic Key West,” published by Historic Tours of America. A true Key West tradition.As one of the Conch Tour Train engineers, I was an ambassador for the City, delivering a high quality, informative and entertaining tour of Old Town Key West, one of the oldest and largest Historic Districts in the United States. I drove tourists around the historic district in a custom built train replica, a throwback to the roadside attractions common in the late 50's and early 60’s. The trains are 65 feet in length and the tour negotiates some of the most challenging (bumpy and narrow) roads and traffic conditions imaginable. As a tour guide, I was responsible for educating visitors about the unique natural and cultural history, geography, economic development, military and maritime history, architecture, and notable figures relevant to the community. Each morning I gave each guest a warm smile, made eye contact, and gave them a cheerful “Good Morning.” I let them know, on that first impression, that I care about them and was there to serve them. I endeavored to answer all of their questions and did everything I could to help them have an unforgettable vacation in Key West.When the guests boarded the bus in Mallory Square to return to the hotels, instead of asking them which hotel they were staying at, I told them which hotel they were in. This immediately let them know that I remembered them, and where I picked them up. When appropriate I asked how their boat trip was, or how the restaurant was, that I recommended. Obviously, if I saw them the following day, we had now developed a relationship. Show less
