SafeStart uses smart mobile devices and a cloud based patient and clinician portal compliant with HIPAA to manage our innovative and more thorough surgical safety process. SafeStart starts the surgical safety process in the office and involves the patient in the safety process. Our surgical safety software product SafeStart® epitomizes the art and science of surgical safety in symbiotic harmony. We actively pursue our goals to improve patient safety and satisfaction with the surgical safety process while we simultaneously improve operating room efficiency by reducing the delay in starting cases and eliminating unnecessary cancellation of cases. Frequently several EMR's coexist at facilities where the surgical care of a patient takes place. As one of my anesthesia colleagues aptly queried "which of the versions the patient should I believe?” When SafeStart is used as directed our answer at SafeStart Medical is to believe the patient and surgeon created and patient verified version of the patient's information as the single point of truth.
