Valentina Barbacci works with corporations and non-profit organisations to address social, environmental, and governance (ESG) issues. She focuses primarily on human rights (modern slavery and human trafficking) and climate change, helping clients to develop sustainability/ESG, business development, reporting, and impact measurement strategies to more effectively bring positive change and real impact to communities around the world.Organisations she has worked with include: Volex plc, TT Electronics plc, Burma Human Rights Network (BHRN) in Myanmar (Burma), the Utley Foundation's Music for Dementia and m4dRadio.com in the UK, BioSure, Media Matters for Women in Sierra Leone and the Democratic Republic of Congo, and the Association for the Protection of Women's and Children's Rights in Cameroon.Valentina has intentionally built her career across multiple industries (Foreign Policy, Financial Services Research, Technology, Human Rights, Healthcare, Sustainability) and geographies (US, UK, Africa, Europe, Asia) to better understand and serve our globalised world. She is an author and editor of various publications, including Rhys Photis's “The Turquoise Brick Road” about the 8 universal stages of human development (https://theturquoisebrickroad.com). She is a member of the Council on Foreign Relations (CFR). She holds a BA in International Relations and Journalism from Boston University, and also studied International Human Rights Law and Practice at the London School of Economics. She speaks English, Italian, French, and Spanish, and also studied Turkish, Russian and Latin.
