Redesigned Development Department- hired four new staff and set up strategic funding plans. Chattanooga CARES is the Tennessee Valley’s resource for HIV/AIDS providing education, prevention and support for all those affected by the virus. The CARES facility offers free rapid HIV testing where results are available in 20 minutes. The on-site clinic provides comprehensive infectious disease and primary health care, substance abuse and mental health services, adherence counseling, patient education, nutritional services and specialty medical services. Chattanooga CARES also provides an array of client services which include one-on-one case management, assistance with rent/mortgages, utilities, food eye exams, medicine support groups, client education and job placement. Chattanooga Endeavors, Inc. (CEi) is a publicly supported charity based in Chattanooga, Tennessee with a mission to improve public safety by restoring former offenders to productive roles in society. With a special emphasis on recently released prisoners, we prepare former offenders for work, support them in their job search and offer limited opportunities for remunerative work training through an alternative staffing program. The premise for most of our efforts is that helping former offender obtain employment that leads to a livable wage is simple and cost effective way to prevent repeat crime and re-incarceration.
