Industrial Operations Intern - EngineeringLouis Dreyfus Company May 2018 - Aug 2018I spent my summer of 2018 with Louis Dreyfus Company at the Biodiesel Plant/Glycerin Refinery in Claypool, Indiana as the engineering intern. My projects improved safety for all staff, reliability of the plant machinery, and time efficiency for the operators. I created and managed my own project schedule and timelines while also coordinating with external contractors. My experience included rotating equipment, fixed equipment, piping and process, mechanical drawings, and staff management. My favorite project was an original design which I created to alter a magnetic separation system. I designed a new enclosure with moving fixtures, and operating procedures that eliminate operator risk and improve reliability of rotating equipment following the separation process.
