Having realized from an early age that there was so much to do and so little being done in the field of Healthcare, V knew he had step in to change that.He knew that the future of healthcare depended on the combination of better patient experience, better value and better outcomes that properly built technology was bound to deliver. He soon understood that AI and its ability to digitally augment clinical teams had enormous, untapped potential.That is why, during his PhD in Electrical Engineering, V invented the novel concept of a Digital Therapist, shifting the musculoskeletal care paradigm and empowering patients with access to unrivaled treatment from their own home.Following his PhD, he founded SWORD Health, where he’s pioneering the design and development of AI digital therapists that shift Healthcare from Analog to Digital.Besides owning 12 patents at the age of 30, V has already authored and co-authored more than 40 research papers. Having his footprint in fields as diverse as sensor fusion algorithms, motion tracking systems or neuroplasticity, he was featured in some of the most relevant scientific publications in the world and took part in the most important MedTech conferences.Daring in design, cautious in execution, Virgílio's path is being shaped by his will to make a dent in the universe, having technology as his major ally.
