Develop and review print, digital, and technology-enhanced math content in guided learning, practice, and assessment items designed to deliver dynamic and engaging mathematics instruction in traditional, blended, and virtual learning environments; ensure alignment to national, state, and local standards; ensure optimum performance across multiple platforms and delivery modes.

As curriculum facilitator, I have been charged with the task of researching and designing curricular materials aligned to the new Common Core State Standards for Mathematics for the middle and high school grade levels. I am responsible for designing and implementing quality professional development to train teachers on the new standards to be implemented, how to effectively use the resources that are made available to them, and provide targeted guidance and direction in the use of research-based instructional strategies to increase student achievement. Over the past two years, I have been able to share my experience with many of my fellow educators, and with each concluding training session, I find myself more inspired and motivated to design the best quality materials for implementation in the classroom. It is my sincere desire that the teachers of my school district have learned as much from the training sessions as I have learned from facilitating them!

I hold a Bachelors Degree in Mathematics from the University of North Carolina at Charlotte, and a Master’s Degree in Mathematics Education from the same institution. I currently hold a SPII/Class A Teaching License in Secondary Mathematics (9-12) issued by the state of North Carolina. Prior to assuming the position of Curriculum Facilitator, I taught Algebra I, Geometry, Algebra II, and Pre-Calculus at North Gaston High School in Dallas, NC. Throughout my teaching experience, I was selected to attend the highly competitive TECT (Teaching Engineering to Counselors and Teachers) Workshop held at UNCC in the summer of 2009,, and I was selected as a participant in the Pinnacle Leaders program for the 2010-2011 school year. I was elected the Math Department Chair and SIT representative by my colleagues at North Gaston for three consecutive years, and I have served on SSMT for the Communications Academy at the high school, in addition to being a member of the website committee for the school.
