Multiple industry-funded projects for experimental and theoretical research/development of inkjet printing process. We achieved our goal to develop the technology as a scale-able process to support rapid, efficient, and cost-effective manufacture of next-generation nanotechnology devices. Functioned independently to identify key research goals, statistical design of experiments, collect, process, analyze and interpret data, and communicate results to industry sponsors and research peers via conference presentations and peer-reviewed publications. Successfully designed, built, and implemented a state-of-the-art & unique inkjet-printing apparatus with precise and comprehensive computer control of multiple instruments for synchronized, multi-scale and multi-perspective optical observation of flow and deposition of nanoparticles during inkjet printing. Successfully developed a rapid, low-temperature printing and plasma treatment process to deposit metal traces with electrical conductivity levels on par with bulk metal. Conceptualized and developed a fast, material-efficient, and fully scalable inkjet printing process to reliably deposit ~1μm rectilinear patterns of metal nanoparticles for use as circuit traces and solar cell bus bars. Size of the patterns is 90% improvement over current state-of-the-art inkjet printing capability.
Teaching Assistant - Partial Differential Equations, Fluid Mechanics
Developed and taught a 3-lecture course module on fundamental theory and applications of potential flow for a class of ~100 students Developed and taught a course module on the use of Mathematica to solve differential equations and fluid mechanics problems Held group discussions to help students of various levels of prior knowledge understand complex subject matter Graded and provided feedback on student work (exams, quizzes, homework)
Recitation Lecturer - Fluid Mechanics
Developed and conducted weekly recitation sessions with undergraduate students to supplement lectures. Used stimulating problems from engineering and research fields to engage students and help develop scientific curiosity and application of theory to solving flow problems. All recitation sessions were video-recorded. Average class size ~30 students.
Laboratory Teaching Assistant - Introductory Physics
Demonstrated physics concepts using various standard and non-standard laboratory apparatus. Trained and assisted students with the execution of laboratory physics experiments and collection and interpretation of acquired data. Class size ~20 students.
