CurrentIn 2016, Van developed a web-based Knowledge Base to capture "tribal" knowledge about ACB vendors. Previously at ACB, Van developed a Purchase Order application to replace a paper-based process. Before that, Van architected, designed & developed a web-based Order/Quote application to replace another paper-based process used at all ACB braches. The solutions, developed in .NET using Visual Studio and a SQL database, run on a variety of machines and browsers including Safari, Firefox and IE. An executive dashboard was also developed that displays both warehouse and sales data visibility and provides drill down functionality.

Most recently one to help efforts in support of families with children affected by domestic violence for select cities in California. A few years ago there was a project to upgrade a web application used by the California Court system to evaluate the effectiveness of Drug Court programs. A similar application was developed for California DUI courts. Another project was to create a web site to enable NPC and other research companies to collaborate on a special project. CA-CEDV programs are funded by the California Children’s Justice Act Task Force and managed by the California Governor’s Office of Emergency Services. These programs establish partnerships between local law enforcement and social services, with the goal of improving the system response to children who have been exposed to violence in their homes.As one might expect, after implementation there were a few changes that needed to be made. These were addressed in the 1st quarter of 2017.

Here, Van worked on numerous projects including one to fund energy reduction loans for home owners in Portland and Seattle, where the loan is repaid on the consumer’s utility bill. For this project a solution was needed for a repeatable electronic process to reduce the cost of loan initiation and on-going administration. The project is based on more recent versions of MS SQL and Microsoft’s Dynamics CRM. It also incorporated the use of web services and custom produced web and console applications. Additionally, Van enhanced many of the in-house IT processes that has enabled expansion of the business; including the development of a custom loan underwriting application.
