I learned and developed my key professional skills while successfully organizing and directing my campaign for public office; and subsequently serving as a 24 year old district judge in the Commonwealth of Pennsylvania. Skills such leadership, decision-making, negotiating with adversarial parties, organizational management, and public-speaking became part of my portfolio as I heard and decided cases in a politically-charged environment. After completing my term as a district judge, I was appointed by the Pennsylvania Supreme Court as the Executive for Special Courts throughout Pennsylvania; a position responsible for auditing special court compliance with judicial rules and regulations. My authority included fiscal accountability, judicial education and training, and drafting rules of procedure. During this time, I was appointed by the Pennsylvania Supreme Court as the Administrator to the Minor Court Rules Committee; and to the Statewide Automation Project. As a member of the Statewide Automation Project, I participated in the planning and execution of the automation of the special courts throughout Pennsylvania.As an adjunct instructor in Paralegal and Business studies, I continue to prepare students for careers in the law and business. After a successful career in Pennsylvania's judiciary, I transferred my management and analytic skills to the private sector. Working as a sales executive and account manager with legal publishing and software companies, I assisted law firms to leverage research and productivity software applications so they could increase their client base, and better serve their clients. My experience also included leading the sales initiatives of a new data analytic software program for Intellectual Property attorneys.
