Over the past 15 years, I have helped set up and operate three VC firms. For which I created new deal sourcing, startup evaluation, and exit prediction tools. I've also authored three books on venture capital: VC Evolve, Contrarian Cycles, and Unlocking Liquidity. I utilized a new AI model I customized to summarize startup pitch decks and prepare investment memos and DD reports. I utilized a new data model I designed to collect 300+ data points on every company we consider, and then used ML to score companies based on price, market, team, differentiation, and performance, and to predict exit timelines, valuations, and fund returns. I’ve also created internal products to automate the collection of portfolio companies’ performance data, and encourage knowledge sharing among portfolio companies’ founders and teams. I come with technical, entrepreneurial, and active VC investing experience, and I managed small and large teams of both business and engineering talents. I am an Engineer with an MBA, and I’m a Kauffman Fellow since 2012.As a founder myself, I started e-Traindex, a marketplace for training courses in 2006 (failed), dCap, a robo-advisor for crypto trading in 2019 (failed), and now building nmbr, a neo-telecom company started in 2024!----------------------------------I am a math lover, and my passion for product and analytics led me to enroll in Udacity's Data Analyst and then Data Scientist Nano Degrees to learn: R, Python (Numpy and Pandas), Machine Learning (Scikit-Learn, PyTorch, TensorFlow, Keras), SQL, Looker, Mode Analytics, and Tableau. In 2023, I enrolled in UC Berkeley FinTech Bootcamp, which included courses on Data Science, AI, & ML Applications in both: Traditional Financial technology programming (Web2 & CeFi), and Decentralized Financial technology programming (DeFi, Blockchain, Web3, & Smart Contracts). In this bootcamp I learned about: Solidity, Ethereum, Bitcoin, Near, Smart Contracts, Consensus Algorithms, Transactions Validation, Distributed Ledger, Cryptocurrency, Truffle Suite, Ganache and many other cool tech.
