I'm a rheumatologist at the Rheumatology Department of Hospital de Santa Maria, Centro Hospitalar Universitário Lisboa Norte, where I coordinate the Sjögren’s Syndrome Clinic. Since 2017 I am a Coordinator for Sjögren’s Syndrome of the European Reference Network ReCONNET. Further, I am also a researcher at the Rheumatology Research Unit, Instituto de Medicina Molecular, and an Invited Assistant Professor at Faculty of Medicine, University of Lisbon. My research focuses on clinical and pathophysiological aspects of Sjögren’s syndrome, synovial tissue pathobiology and inflammatory arthritis. I am an Associate Editor of Frontiers in Medicine Rheumatology and I serve as a reviewer of several national and international medical journals.
