Executive Artistic Director

Current
A House Unbuilt

As Executive Artistic Director of A House Unbuilt, I work to create and execute projects focused on social choreography. Social choreography is about moving people, and creating space and situations for people to move themselves, to be empowered to move. Our current multi-year endeavor is called Relay of Voices: The Great River Run. RELAY is a work of social choreography and community building enacted by 100 towns and cities along the Mississippi River in collaboration with myself and my company. Together we are creating a connection with the river, and the rootedness of the life along it, through collective participation in a series of activities and events focused on storytelling and movement. Six artist-athletes will be running a relay, inviting local residents to join in at key moments, and engaging in each community to gather and share over 600 unique stories of individuals whose lives reflect the human dimension of life on the water.OTHER PROJECTS HAVE INCLUDED:Place I and IINeighborhood DancesSkirtsDinner Dance
