Founder & CeoGlobalsign.In Pte Ltd Mar 2007 - PresentSingapore, Singapore, SgLaunched an event registration product, called GlobalSignIn, back in 2007. SaaS model we offered did not take off. Ended up becoming a service-based event tech company working on largest and highest profile events. While the SaaS business did not take off, the reputation and trust in our company grew steadily. (Fun fact: SaaS wasn’t a thing back then. It was “ASP”.)In 2015, launched GEVME, the culmination of our almost decade-long experience in events and tech. Took around 2 years to completely shut down previous software to fully transition towards being an event tech product company. Strategy worked. GEVME has since been deployed at highly secure and important events and large organisations. Some examples: Used at historic North Korea-US Summit in 2018, deployed for whole of Singapore Government under G-Cloud, deployed for People’s Association of Singapore (3M registrations/year).In 2020, as the whole world pretty much banned large scale human physical gatherings, pivoted towards virtual events. Led with full transparency. Implemented painful pay cuts across the board. Flattened org structure. Lived and breathed our core value #6: Faster is Better Than Perfect. Built new tech. Showed thought leadership, writing profusely about upcoming new normal. Walked the talk by running our own virtual events as showcases. Created original educational materials for new skills required. Forged partnerships with higher learning institutions, culminating in co-branded courses with Government endorsement. Building partnerships and community with venues, event agencies and laid-off event professionals having to reinvent themselves. Our core product, GEVME, is today a fast growing platform powering the next generation of virtual and hybrid events.
