As part of the faculty and student services team, the School Chaplain at Seabury Hall has a vital, student-focused role in partnership with an outstanding faculty and staff, together with committed parents, friends, and alumni. A co-chair of the school’s Diversity Equity Inclusion, Justice, and Belonging (DEIJB) initiatives, I provide an intentional ministry of pastoral presence to the entire community. For those of all faiths/no faith, the School Chaplain supports and encourages spiritual wellness through assembly reflections and contemplative chapel services. I teach semester-long 9-12th grade World Religion electives, and I coordinate the Community Service Leadership (CSL) program, providing the framework and resources for students to serve with passion and lead for justice.

In 2015, the Episcopal Church in Hawai'i welcomed my transfer from the Anglican Church of Australia with open arms. Extending the aloha of hospitality, Bishop Bob Fitzpatrick supported and encouraged, providing opportunities such as being an Examining Chaplain in 2018. I returned to the Diocese of Hawai'i in May 2021 to take up ministry as School Chaplain of Seabury Hall, Maui. Additionally, from 2021 I became a member of the Diocesan Creation Care and Environmental Justice Task Force and from 2022, a member of the Chapter of the Cathedral of St. Andrew, Honolulu. In 2023, I became the Diocesean Education for Ministry (EfM) Coordinator.

Southern Louisiana

As part of the Diocese of Louisiana during my time at St. Luke's Church and School, I had the opportunity to serve on the Executive Board, the Diocesan Environmental Commission, and as part of the Diocesan Prison Ministry.

Baton Rouge, Louisiana Area

In this role, I shared time and energy between St. Luke’s Episcopal Church and School, striving to bring a pastoral heart to all of life and ministry. School-side, I offered pastoral care to the entire school community, taught Middle School Religion, and facilitated the liturgical planning of chapel. Church-side, I functioned as an associate for congregational life, mission, evangelism, and outreach, bringing my enthusiasm for all-ages Christian formation and energy for robust theological engagement with contemporary environmental, social, and cultural concerns. I also assisted in the areas of communications, I.T., live-streamed, and recorded audiovisual media.

Kailua, Honolulu County, Hawaii

As Vicar, I worked as the priest and pastor at Emmanuel Episcopal Church, having oversight of worship and liturgy, pastoral care, Christian formation, and administration of this family-sized mission congregation. During my time at Emmanuel, Kailua we explored the richness of the Episcopal Book of Common Prayer together with Enriching Our Worship resources; we prayed and sang together at two Sunday Eucharists and during the week using the Daily Office; we continued to welcome cradle Episcopalians, expectant newcomers, and reluctant doubters, embracing all with a hospitality of love and aloha; and together we took our place in the life and ministry of the wider Diocese through Convention and other councils of the church.

In January 2015 I relocated to Hawaii with my family to take up a call at the Episcopal Parish of St. Clement, Honolulu. As Associate Rector, my duties included taking my place on the Sunday preaching and presiding roster for the Eucharist; leading regular chapel services for St. Clement's School, celebrating the weekly Prayer for Healing Eucharist; facilitating worship and adult formation programs at local retirement communities; liaising with and assisting the Family Ministries Team; encouraging continued local, national, and global outreach; and co-facilitating communication, Social Media, and Information Technology needs within the parish.

I was ordained deacon by the Right Reverend Stuart Robinson (10th Bishop of the Diocese of Canberra & Goulburn) on the feast of St Matthias, 26 February 2011 in the Cathedral Church of St Saviour, Goulburn, New South Wales, Australia, and was ordained priest by Bishop Robinson (and the college of presbyters) on the Feast of St Andrew, 26 November 2011 (also at St. Saviour's).

East Brisbane, Qld, Australia

As Associate Chaplain, I reported directly to the Senior Chaplain and alongside the Head of Religious Studies. Duties included the teaching of Religion, taking regular chapel services, responsibility for the catechumenate program (Admission to Holy Communion and Confirmation services in the Elementary, Middle, and High School), pastoral care of staff, students, and teachers, facilitating the booking and maintenance of the Canon Jones Memorial Chapel on-site, as well as other administrative and liaison duties.

Returning to my hometown in November 2012 (after six years in the ACT and rural NSW) I recommenced ministry in the Anglican Diocese of Brisbane in November 2012. Previously (1993-2005) I had been a boy-chorister, lay clerk (adult-chorister), a server (acolyte), and verger at St John's Cathedral, Brisbane, Australia where I had attended since toddler-age (the mid-1980s).

Morningside, Qld, Australia

As Priest in Charge, I was responsible for all liturgical, pastoral, and administrative duties in the Anglican Parish of Morningside | The Church of the Ascension. During my incumbency, I honored the long-standing traditional Anglo-Catholic traditions of the parish while introducing Vatican II-style, modern-catholic, Australian prayer book liturgy to complement and enrich the living history of The Church of the Ascension. During my incumbency, I worked hard to increase the inclusivity and outlook of the church community while creating a safe space for new singles, couples, and families who were moving into the surrounding community (a rapidly changing urban environment) in increasing numbers.

Young, Nsw, Australia

Engaged in pastoral, liturgical, and teaching ministries, in Young I assisted the Rector with sacramental duties at St. John's, as well as five other district church centers within the rural parish. My varied ministries also included the formation of children and adults, and chaplaincy at various medical facilities in the district, including two hospitals, a nursing facility, and a hospice.

Working with "Shaw's" was a humbling experience. There, I gained my first significant insight into what it was like to be a person with special needs living and working in the community. I had the chance to be a pastoral, supportive presence for clients, enabling them to engage in a wide range of healthy activities such as catching the bus, ten-pin bowling, swimming therapy, and indoor cricket.

At St. Paul's, I lived on-site as the resident Verger (Sexton). During that time, I was responsible for the care of the Manuka site including church, hall, and grounds. Duties including the professional cleaning of the buildings and grounds, as well as liturgical duties at weddings, funerals, and at choral evensong.

Employed by Scripture Union A.C.T. under the Australian National Chaplaincy program, I offered pastoral care and support to teachers, parents, and students; facilitated and led programs to support high-needs students; offered a spiritual presence at assembly and other public occasions, and built relationships with the wider school community as a member of the faculty.

To those who ask, I describe being a taxi driver in my hometown "one of the most formative periods in my life"!
