Geothermal Exploration Geologist
CurrentSpearheading the regional exploration efforts to identify viable geothermal resources in sedimentary basins. • Developed efficient workflows to evaluate any style of sedimentary basin to identify geothermal sweet-spots, by integrating temperature, thermal conductivity, heat capacity, heat flow, structural, stratigraphic, sedimentologic, geophysical, geochemistry, and well log data in combination with basin modeling techniques. • Utilized basin modeling output to estimate porous media properties, thermal parameters, and boundary conditions for reservoir-scale geothermal flow simulations. • Built a comprehensive temperature dataset (approx. 1million records) based on numerous publicly available databases containing US well information.• Reservoir scale thermal flow modeling to evaluate the effect of rock properties (sedimentary structures, fractures, …) and well designs (diameter, spacing, production/injection rate, …) on the geothermal hydraulic system (pressure, temperature, longevity, …).
