Velis is a results driven senior Executive, experienced in Health Insurance Management. He has also gained significant and successful experience in Private Healthcare management(both Primary & Secondary)in large healthcare Groups.He now works at IASO Group as Manager for Insurance Companies, General Commercial Direction.Velis was until recently the Director of Insurance Companies and Organisations at HEALTHSPOT Diagnostic Centres, part of Hellenic Healthcare Group (HHG), responsible for the Insurance Companies and the corporate clients. Since November 2022, he is also part of the Commercial Direction of HHG.He worked in BIOIATRIKI Health Care Group as the Director of the Insurance Companies and the Corporate Clients till end of June 2021.Before that, he was the Head of Employee Benefits, Affinities and International Sales at ERB Insurance Services, EuroLife Group and a member of the Management Committee (MANCO).Until February 2016, he was the Deputy General Manager of International Life S.A, a major Greek General & Life Insurance Company based in Athens, Greece. He was managing the Life and Accident & Health line of business for more than two years. Prior to that he worked as the Commercial Director of the Euroclinic Group of Hospitals, (General & Children) and significantly improved turnover, number of incoming patients and market share.From 2004 to 2012, Velis worked in ALICO AIG as the Regional Vice President for the Region of Central & Eastern Europe managing the Accident & Health Insurance in Greece, Cyprus, Bulgaria, Romania, Ukraine, Russia, Poland, Czech Republic, Slovakia, Hungary, Lithuania, Latvia and Serbia ) and achieved strong market positioning and almost double profits growth. He recruited, trained and coached the local teams and managed to expand the sales of A&H from Agency only distribution, to a multi-channel distribution platform including Bancassurance, Direct Marketing / Telemarketing, multi-level Brokers and Car Dealers.Velis is a self-motivated, creative and articulate business manager well-versed in Health and Life Insurance, private Healthcare management and the development and execution of strategic initiatives through multi-channel distributions. He has proven ability to lead across business units, geographies and cultures and achieve results. He worked several times in starting-up businesses, in various countries of Europe and outside during his career. He is fluent in English, French and Greek (native).
