Responsiblities:• Plans, coordinates, and executes complete server life cycle management activities, working with other teams globally as required.• Participates in day-to-day activities as part of the Global Server Operations Team in support of the Server Operations environment, including rotational on-call support.• Must be willing to work extended hours and various shifts and to be on call after business hours.• Works with other Information Technology Teams in Enterprise and business sectors to understand their Server infrastructure requirements and to coordinate the necessary team activities.• Maintains and executes an automated patch deployment process to ensure all servers are kept up to date on a monthly patch cycle and are aligned with minimum standard OS/SP and patch levels.• Ensures compliance with change control procedures in cooperation with application owners and business contacts.• Maintains established standards in the areas of Server hardware specifications, Windows Server builds, build processes, Service Packs, Patch levels, and server security.• Maintains clear records and ensures adequate maintenance coverage for all in-scope servers and that maintenance information is available as required.• Drives continuous improvement in the use of Monitoring and Security tools to maximize availability and capacity of Server Operations infrastructure. Provides input for capacity planning activity.• Provides clear performance data and metrics in support of the operational environment.• Work with Monitoring and Security Team to ensure appropriate escalation of alerts.• Provides performance recommendations in support of service improvement activity.• Performs project leadership duties for project activity within the Server Operations team.• Provides clear operational and project status reports, including operational metrics and service level agreements (SLA’s) for the Server Operations team as required by management.
