Extensive work on thermal, structural analysis on Gas Turbine hardware. This was principally done to establish LCF (Low Cycle Fatigue) life for hot gas path components. Included in the effort was vibration, scope limits determination, creep analysis, use of six sigma methods for design and life estimation and improvement. ANSYS was used to make the DOE runs for three DOE configurations to determine the sensitive parameters and arrive at a robust design configuration to maintain flex frequency, minimize dynamic stresses, maintain mass constraints and minimize dynamic stresses for the Two stripe frequency. Accurate response surfaces were computed to calculate first frequency, mass, two stripe dynamic stress and standard deviation. An optimization tool was constructed to validate the graphical robust design configuration.• Developed gas turbine full engine combined thermal/structural and secondary flow models to predict temperature, stress and growth due to thermal and centrifugal loads. • Developed advanced parametric method for coupled thermal/fluid flow/mechanical analysis using UG NX and ANSYS, which resulted in a significant cost savings and design improvement. • Redesigned of GE-5 and GE-10 Gas Turbine Inlet Plenum using DFSS Methodology by GE Power.• Performed FE Analysis programs to create 3D sub-models from 2D axisymmetric models for detailed analysis of 3D features while applying additional cycle conditions such as; temperatures, displacements, boundary conditions, pressures, torque, omega, and pre-loading. • Final reports containing technical data to substantiate the analysis performed Perform technical review of analyses done by team members.• Rotor Dynamic analysis of Turbine MS5002E HP and PGT10/1. Buckling Analysis of PGT5 Liner.
