Extensive work on thermal, structural analysis on Gas Turbine hardware. This was principally done to establish LCF (Low Cycle Fatigue) life for hot gas path components. Included in the effort was vibration, scope limits determination, creep analysis, use of six sigma methods for design and life estimation and improvement. ANSYS was used to make the DOE runs for three DOE configurations to determine the sensitive parameters and arrive at a robust design configuration to maintain flex frequency, minimize dynamic stresses, maintain mass constraints and minimize dynamic stresses for the Two stripe frequency. Accurate response surfaces were computed to calculate first frequency, mass, two stripe dynamic stress and standard deviation.
