As Head of IT at WDT I developed a highly effective IT strategy, leading a department which was known throughout the industry for its ability to deliver successful IT and logistics projects to budget and on-time. The creation of a powerful in-house programing resource dramatically reduced our supply chain costs, resulting in improved response and delivery times, whilst a highly trained support and infrastructure teams recognize that their primary aim is to help their fellow employees achieve the objectives of the business. As such, key to our success has been the relationship between IT, processes and people.I was the primary architect of WDT's entire corporate ERP system. This seamlessly integrated all stages of the product lifecycle from design concept to product delivery. A single consolidated stock level allowed the same inventory to be available simultaneously to all wholesale, retail, ecommerce and international markets. The system was in use by all 250 WDT employees in production, sales, customer services, imports, warehousing, retail and ecommerce functions and a further 200 remote agents customers and suppliers. In 2009 my team were finalists at the European Supply Chain Industry awards for our Origin Logistics system implemented in Shenzhen, China - this exciting project was both ground breaking in its conception and successful in its delivery.I was responsible for the IT general controls and IT Governance within the company and oversaw an independent annual audit by Price Waterhouse.
