About Victor Motta
Bachelor's degree in Economics (B.A) and Mathematics and Statistics (B.Sc.) from King University, in Tennessee, a Master's degree in Applied Economics and a Ph.D in Hospitality Finance with concentration in International and Corporate Finance, and a minor in Applied Statistics from Penn State University. Extensive international professional experience in both hospitality and tennis management in the UAE, Oman, Thailand, Egypt, India and China, having travelled to 120+ countries. Nearly 1.5 years living in Russia and China to study both Russian and Chinese language and literature at Moscow State University and Hebei University, respectively.Currently serving as Associate Professor of International Finance at SKEMA Business School. Previous academic positions held at São Paulo School of Business Administration - Fundação Getúlio Vargas, Fundação Dom Cabral and Penn State University.Research interest broadly focuses on microfinance and financial inclusion, financial well-being and private sector development. Teaching interest includes microfinance and financial inclusion, international finance, corporate finance, applied econometrics/statistics, data science/machine learning, and applied mathematics.Main publications have appeared in leading international peer-reviewed journals, such as Journal of Financial Stability, Small Business Economics, International Journal of Hospitality Management, Tourism Economics, International Journal of Contemporary Hospitality Management and Journal of School Health, among others.
