Venecia Rollins is a senior-standing undergraduate student at Oregon State University pursuing a double degree in Sustainability and Bioresource Research with a focus on Water Resources and Toxicology. She is actively searching for the perfect marine ecotoxicology graduate program and hopes to begin this educational adventure in the Fall of 2025.She believes every person has the right to clean water and actively works to create a future where that is possible. Venecia is building her career transdiciplinarily by working at the forefront of climate change and environmental justice initiatives; through community building, traditional and scientific knowledge integration, active listening, and ecosystem bioremediation protocols.Currently, a Greenbelt Land Trust board member (Corvallis, OR), Venecia is learning more about making immediate and tangible change through the non-profit's hyper-localized efforts in conservation, ecosystem restoration, and facilitation of community-nature integration. When not in school, volunteering to battle houselessness and working with K-12 BIPOC children is imperative to Venecia's values of rebalancing environmental inequalities, fighting for social justice, and encouraging the next generations of BIPOC children to believe they, too, can be scientists.In her free time, Venecia enjoys traveling and SCUBA, gardening organically, doing yoga, hiking with friends, and curling up with her cats and a good book.
