Mr. Venekamp is working as a Researcher the Energy research Centre of the Netherlands (ECN). He has gained experiences within the field of Smart Grids and has contributed to the development of Intelligent Agents within a Multi Agents System called the PowerMatcher. He participates in many national and international cooperative projects involving collaboration between industry, university and R&D institution partners. Project he has worked for are: Integral, SmartHouse/SmartGrid, Grids4Vehicles, Web2Energy. Mr. Venekamp has worked for NIKHEF on the following projects.Project: Grid computing (Cloud computing)This group focuses on security of grid computing with Authentication and Authorization as a main interest.‣ Development and maintenance of an application called 'glexec' . It is a 'user identity switching service' that translates a grid identity, i.e. a signed certificate, into a local Unix account. ‣ Responsible for collecting and maintenance of security requirements.‣ Developed a scripting language and parser for LCMAPS in Yacc & Lex. It was well received by the end users. It became quite convenient for system administrators to get the Authorization working for their site and needs.‣ Extension and maintenance of Grid security software.The above work has been done within the following European project: DataGrid, EGEE-I and EGEE-II. The software was developed on Linux systems and C.Project: AntaresMr. Venekamp started within the Antares project. This is a neutrino experiment in the Mediterranean sea, 40 kilometer off the coast and 2.5 kilometers below sea level. It involved developing software and maintaining a farm located in Marseilles on which data coming from the off shore detector was collected and stored.‣ Developed a data streamer class for writing data to disk. Requirements and design were done with UML. Implementation was done in C++. Development was done on Linux.‣ Developed a disk space monitoring application in C++ and Qt.‣ Developed a logger which extended the C++ iostream classes.‣ Responsible for setting up and maintaining a small Linux farm.‣ He also tried to get the group to work on requirements and UML, but did not succeed.

Mr. Venekamp has worker at FEI Company for the R&D department. FEI is a manufacturer of electron microscopes. He has worked in a multidisciplinary team, as a software engineer. Development platform was Windows 2000 and all software developed within Visual Studio in C++.‣ He was responsible for requirement analysis, design and implementation of a state machine to transport wafers into a electronmicroscope. Used UML for the design.‣ Responsible for requirement analysis and design of encompassing control software for wafer transport. Used UML for the design.

Mr. Venekamp has worked at Yacht as a software engineer. Yacht is a secondment company (Dutch: detacheringsbureau). During his stay at Yacht he was seconded to FEI in Eindhoven.

Amsterdam Area, Netherlands

During his studies at the University of Amsterdam, Mr. Venekamp gave a practical course to a group of 60 students. The students had to make a Robotic arm play chess. One group did image processing and other path planning and a third group inverse kinematics to make the robot arm move. At the end of the course he graded all students on their accomplishments.
