About Venessa Miler

I have over 30 years experience in service based industries, with a heavy focus on community support, engagement and youth. I graduated in 1980 with a Bachelor of Arts (education), ten years later I followed it up with a Bachelor of education. In addition to teaching I have worked in a variety of sectors from hospitality to government in a number of different roles and responsibility levels. I spent a number of years in Employment services as well as youth engagement, homelessness prevention and events and programme development and management, most recently as the Manager of Vic Park Youth Accommodation Services and Before that I was an LC at the WANDIS. I was using Agile and Kanban before they were a thing and find nimble well informed and skilled staff lead to a nimble and well run agency

    Once upon a time when Major Telcos had their call centers in Australia, I worked mainly for mobile net, but took all Telstra calls in the office in Belmont. We operated out of three computer systems/data bases and took calls, inquiries and complaints for Mobilenet, Single billing and WAP (data, which was just taking off). Helping people negotiate the menues when Nokia introduced an updated 3310, for people who had limited access to any tech, was just one of the many types of inquiry I would handle. In addition we had KPI's for up selling and referring to Telstra sales online. My performance reviews based on those KPI's were always at least 4 out of 5. My quarterly bonus was based on those figures.
