Hailing from Vijayawada, Andhra Pradesh, India, Maha has gained widespread recognition for his debut feature film, 'C/o Kancharapalem.' This critically acclaimed film has been ranked 1st in the list of top-rated Telugu films on IMDb and ranked 14th in the IMDb top-rated Indian movies as of 2023. The film was nominated for six Film Fare Awards, including Best Film and Best Director, and earned the esteemed Critics' Choice Film Award for Best Telugu Feature Film of the year 2018. Maha established Mahayana Motion Pictures and made his second feature 'Uma Maheswara Ugra Roopasya' under the banner in collaboration with Arka Media Works who also produced 'Bahubali 1&2'. It was a direct Netflix release in 2020. It was an adaptation of a National award-winning Malayalam film, 'Maheshinte Prathikaram'. It received appreciation from critics and the audience as one of the best adaptations and received FC Gold from Film Companion.
