Hailing from the hinterlands, of the undivided Andhra Pradesh, in modern day Telangana, Venkat rose to become a first-generation, self-made, academician-turned educationist-turned entrepreneur. He is a teacher at heart and an educationist by profession. Venkat obtained his Bachelor’s degree at Osmania University after which he bagged an All India Rank (AIR) of 21 in the entrance examination for admission to the Master’s degree program at the prestigious, University of Hyderabad, a Central University, declared as an Institution of Eminence by Ministry of Education, Government of India. He shot to fame due to his teaching prowess, depth of knowledge and innate ability to manage operations and administration right from the early stages in his career. Venkat has worked for the best brands in Education & Test-Prep and has handled positions with increasing responsibilities at FIIT-JEE, FIIT-JEE World School and Narayana IIT Academy. His quest to provide excellence in education continued when he charted out on his own by floating the Excellencia Group of Institutions in early 2015. A Social Entrepreneur, Venkat’s single-minded objective is to impart quality education at affordable costs to the students. His group now runs four Junior Colleges and two CBSE affiliated K-12 schools in the Telangana region. Excellencia is a powerhouse of United Andhra and has produced top-notch results, if that is the yardstick to measure quality of education. 50% of the test-takers from Excellencia qualified for the IIT-JEE Advanced Examination in 2017 while several others secured free seats in medical and dental institutions. The college received widespread coverage in the media for producing excellent results within a few years of inception. Venkat’s focus has been on learning outcomes rather than ranks in competitive examinations but he has been successful in doing both, as quality teaching eventually leads to better performance in examinations. The teachers in his schools and colleges are selected after a rigorous selection process that is personally monitored by Venkat to ensure the students get nothing but the very best.
