  • Purposecreative, Inc.
    Creative Director
    Purposecreative, Inc. 2004 - Mar 2009
PurposeCreative provides independent design and communication consulting to many businesses and not-for-profit organizations. Often agencies will tap into my experience to augment their creative teams, or to handle projects that fall outside of their core skill sets. Other times, I engage directly with clients to help them achieve their design goals. My projects were been spread across both print and interactive engagements.Agency clients:- Acappella Limited- Align Interactive- Avant Studio- Base Art Co.- Blue Diesel- GRIP Technologies- Lextant- Pontis Group- QuickSquare Technologies- Resource Interactive- Rocket Science + Design- Taillight Communications- Znode.comOn occasion, I’ve had the pleasure of helping clients directly, when their budgets might not align with an agency model, yet the need still exists for high-caliber creative. Direct clients: - AircraftLogs- Brannds- Craig Murdick Architecture- Dayton Media Technologies- Diebold Corporation- Dawson Resources- Digital Reliance- Exel Logistics- Flight Options- Future Path Medical- Leading Edje Consulting- McKnight Group- Nationwide Insurance- NetJets Corporation- Nodalynx- Ohio Division of Wildlife- Ruscilli Construction- Schoedinger Funeral Homes- Sparkspace- Total Foot and Ankle of Ohio- Unyson LogisticsPurposeCreative also provided integrated design services (print & interactive) for many of the nation’s leading ministries and churches. While personally satisfying, it’s also a great way to use design to reach people. Ministry clients:- Church on the Move- Elevate Youth Conferences- Gateway Fellowship- GodTV- MarriageToday- Oneighty- Strive Ministries- Trinity Fellowship- Vista Fellowship- Willie George Ministries
  • Resource Interactive
    Art Director
    Resource Interactive Mar 2007 - May 2008
During my second tour at Resource, I spent my time helping the Scotts Miracle-Gro company make the most of their redesign efforts, by incorporating community-based content generation, and integrating their powerful brands under one site. This was no easy task, considering the voluminous brand content, and the technological rigor needed to help them move from a ColdFusion environment into an ATG platform, all while implementing Pluck functionality to introduce the community-driven content. The Scotts project was the single largest project inside Resource for the year, and was under my design leadership for the duration. In addition to the large scale of the Scotts redesign, I also managed several online advertising projects for Miracle-Gro, Ortho, and Scotts Turfbuilder. One of the unique aspects of these campaigns included PointRoll integration for rich-media banners, which enabled users to upload their own photos directly in-banner, and first for Miracle-Gro, and a first for Resource.Managing vendors from local contractors to off-shore developers in Costa Rica and India came with the territory of doing such large scale work, and proved to be a unique challenge as we all collaborated across the dateline to work towards very aggressive deadlines. The SMG account was the single largest account for Resource in 2007, and was under my creative leadership for the duration for the project.

My responsibilities while at EC Next was to manage all aspects of the visual needs for our clients’ sites, and design and oversee the building of our own portal, Manta.com.The real challenge in how they achieve their results is though various SEO and SEM design principles. Finding unique ways to stay ahead of the curve in the search world, while keeping the sites fresh and inviting was always a challenge.I managed vendors locally and in Bulgaria, as we found new ways to get work done efficiently and in very modest budgets.
