With a scientific background in Biology and Biomedical sciences, I was always very keen on working at organized work places.I am passionate about organization, continuous improvement, ensuring that the work place is safe and meets the needs of the workers.Since I was a technician at the VU Amsterdam I was always a person that organized the lab areas, arranged lab cleaning, ensured we were compliant with GMO regulations and that work was possible with ease. This on top of technician work, mostly molecular work, HPLC and small scale fermenters, but also as a teacher assistant in the practical courses for Biology.I moved to Uniqure because the position of lab manager required some of what I believe are my strongest skills, organize and optimize. I had the best of both worlds, lab and scientific contact with organizational role. After 10 months I was promoted and made effective in the company.During this time I did a Lean Six Sigma yellow belt certification and am on the virtue of getting GLP certification as well.I believe working in a organized, clean and compliant is needed. I thrive in helping scientist and technicians do their work by working on the background and ensuring everything is in place, and when questions arise I also enjoy troubleshooting and get a quick resolution.
