Als bestuurscommissielid wonen ben ik verantwoordelijk voor de ideeënvorming en belangenbehartiging van starters op het gebied van wonen en woonbeleid. Tevens ben ik voorzitter van de werkgroep Wonen binnen CNV Jongeren, waarbinnen ik samen met andere jongeren de inhoudelijke (lobby)agenda en strategie van CNV Jongeren op het gebied van wonen uitzet.

Jong WBS is de jongerenafdeling van de Wiardi Beckmanstichting, het wetenschappelijk bureau van de sociaaldemocratie. Jong WBS heeft als doel jonge mensen te betrekken bij ideeënvorming in de sociaaldemocratie en een bijdrage te leveren aan het politieke en maatschappelijke debat. Hiertoe organiseren wij lezingen, masterclasses, een boekenclub, een jaarlijks symposium met andere jong-wetenschappelijk bureaus en een jaarlijkse zomerschool, waarbij wetenschappers en mensen uit de praktijk jongeren meenemen in maatschappelijke problemen, en we door middel van inhoudelijke discussie oplossingen bedenken en standpunten bepalen. Als penningmeester ben ik verantwoordelijk voor het budget, en organiseer ik activiteiten.

Assisting dr. Franca van Hooren with empirical research in the research project 'Who cares about the workers? Understanding the mobilization, representation and influence of workers in welfare reforms'. Through process tracing we investigate the role trade unions have played in welfare policy reforms in the domestic work, elderly care and childcare sectors in the Netherlands.My tasks include archival research, conducting interviews with relevant actors and providing editorial assistance.

Samen met een diverse groep jonge pensioenprofessionals en studenten heb ik onderzoek gedaan naar de mogelijkheid om geld uit het pensioen te gebruiken voor de aankoop van een huis op jongere leeftijd. Binnen dit project heb ik me vooral gericht op de zorgplicht die met deze regeling gepaard gaat, onder andere op basis van inzichten uit de gedragseconomie.

There is a lack of affordable housing for young people in the city of Utrecht. Woonlab Utrecht is a think tank, powered by trade union CNV Jongeren, focused on making the voice of young people heard in public debate over this problem and its solutions. Together with three others, I advised the municipality of Utrecht and social housing corporations on how to improve the availability of social housing for young people in Utrecht. Our advice was based on a survey conducted among 100+ young people and conversations with experts.My personal contribution consisted of: setting up the questionnaire, writing the final policy advice and presenting the advice to policymakers.

Irrational Innovations is an organization that uses insights from behavioural economics to help financial technology companies in Africa improve financial inclusion in Africa's underserved markets.I'm working on a research project aimed at setting up a database of best practices concerning the promotion of financial inclusion from behavioural science research. To this end I analyze research papers to extract their findings and evaluate the validity of the research. This research project is a collaboration between Irrational Innovations and the Erasmus Impact Centre at the Erasmus University of Rotterdam.

Internship at the Dutch Labour Party during the campaign for the general elections in March 2017. Assisting both the spokesperson and political assistant to the party chairman with daily tasks, including managing the chairman's public mailbox and writing press releases. The internship allowed me to gain insight into the role of public perception and the media in national politics.

‘Visual Ethnography of Cityscapes’ is an intensive 3-week summer school organized by the Netherlands Institute at Athens and the Athens Ethnographic Film Festival (Ethnofest) in collaboration with Leiden University and Vrije Universiteit Amsterdam. I attended classes on the theory and methods of visual anthropology and ethnographic film making.
