For my Ph.D. research, I studied pathogen removal mechanisms to evaluate the potential for resource recovery (water, energy, and nutrients) from wastewater. I collaborated with students and professors from engineering, microbiology, marine science, public health, and anthropology.

-Primary duties are project execution, site design, hydraulic analysis, including drainage calculations, quantities estimation, field construction supervision, data analysis, report preparation, and client coordination-Prepare design drawings for local and state permitting and bid documents for construction.-Design stormwater management and treatment systems, utility layouts, and site plans.-Key projects include the development of design plans for the construction of composting facilities and heavy use area buildings for farms through the NRCS; the development of site plans to retrofit part of the historic Colt Gateway property in Hartford with a high school, including the design of a parking area allowing for bus movements and parent drop-off/pick-up.

Job responsibilities include: - Partnered with Engineering Director to source and coordinate engineering teams for projects- Managed project teams in the preparation of reports and funding proposals- Presented proposals to funding institutions and donors- Collected field information for lead engineers- Communicated engineering projects to government officials and community leaders

- Prepared site plans and reports for the permitting of land development projects.- Prepared stormwater management reports and designed storm sewer systems for site developments.- Participated in three-month internship program (May 2005 – August 2005), gaining experience in geotechnical engineering and the preparation of subsurface investigations.

- Studied the national reform for the decentralization and local management of water and sanitation services.- Carried out a case study of the quality and history of water and sanitation services in 15 rural communities.- Prepared manual describing the institutions, organizations, and legislation related to water and sanitation in Honduras.
