Duties and responsibilities involved the following:•Designing various mechanisms from concept to prototyting to series production•Defining requirements and specifications of parts•Creating 3D models and drawings of parts and assemblies in CAD•Writing Bills of Materials (BOM) of assemblies, detailing drawings with GD&T conforming ISO 1101-2004 and performing Engineering Change Orders (ECO) for released products•Troubleshooting problems in prototype workshop, production and at customer•Supervising development work of drafters and suppliers•Optimizing series products concerning reliability and costsAccomplishments:•Designed trailer braking system and tire pressure regulation system in pneumatic equipment•Coordinated and supervised development work of PUR (polyurethane) parts at designer and producer•Reduced manufacturing costs by saving material and optimization at supplier (ca. $65,000/year)•Modified accelerator including housing for higher motor power, less requirement of energy and longer durability (patent)•Developed knife carrier to improve quality of harvest•Optimized cleaning of cooling system for better motor cooling

•Successfully implemented an elastic motor mounting in frame; optimized welded assembly concerning stresses and manufacturing costs•Integrated batcher for concentrate and silage additive system with 400 liter plastic tank as design element (patent)•Constructed body parts as sheet metal components

Worked as an intern, full time, while obtaining my degree in engineering. I spent 3 months at the company and then three months at the University, continually switching back and forth for 3 years. Involved in the R&D side of engineering as well as production, quality control and production planning, getting a complete overview of the company structure, procedures, and processes.
