Verity worked with the Cross-Cultural Foundation of Uganda (CCFU), helping with their historical buildings projects. CCFU's built heritage projects include the following:- EU-funded project for the European Year of Cultural Heritage 2018, with the following outputs: - Training of photographers and researchers to document historical buildings and sites. - Erection of plaques on notable historical buildings and sites in Kampala, Entebbe and Jinja. - Organising seminars and unveiling events in the 3 cities, to increase awareness and understanding of historical buildings and their economic benefits. - Publication of maps of historical sites - one map for each city. - Publication of a high-quality coffee table book - "Beyond the Reeds and Bricks - Historical Sites and Buildings in Kampala, Jinja and Entebbe". - Creation of an android and iphone app highlighting walking routes around the 3 cities' historical sites.- Drafting and advocating for legislation to protect historical buildings and conservation areas in Kampala (ideally to be launched in other cities thereafter).- Exploring and implementing the creation of a national Heritage Trust for Uganda.- Advising the owners of historical buildings and sites on best-practice and adaptive re-use of their properties.- Preparing applications for the 2020 World Monuments Watch List for monuments at risk.

Myanmar

As head of Research & Valuation, and later as a consultant valuer, Verity assisted with the valuation of a mixture of assets across Myanmar, including:- The annual valuation of Citymart Holding Company Ltd's real estate portfolio, comprising retail malls, office space, distribution warehouses and development land.- The commercial valuation of the Secretariat, Yangon's most significant heritage redevelopment scheme.- Valuation of development land in central Mandalay.- Valuation of a portfolio of international schools, in 8 locations around Myanmar.- Valuation of sugar mill sites in Sagaing Region and Mandalay Region.- Valuation of various serviced office, serviced apartment and residential condo schemes for loan security purposes.

Verity spent over two years as head of the Valuation and Advisory department at Slade Property Services. She was primarily responsible for the creation of valuations, feasibility studies and market research for investment property and potential developments. Verity's work at SPS included the following projects:- In-depth market research report to inform the construction of a 100,000 sq m shopping mall in Yangon.- Industrial and retail site-identification and market research report for a major international wholesaler.- Marketing and marketing consultancy for the Lakeview, a new office property next to Kandawgyi Lake, Yangon.- Market research and valuation of a 10,000 acre industrial estate and port near Mandalay, for IPO purposes.- Yangon office market research report for MPRL E&P.- Development consultancy for large mixed-use project in Ahlone Township, Yangon.- Feasibility study of a 7 acre development site in Mandalay, for financing purposes.- Portfolio valuation of 7 retail and industrial sites in Yangon, Mandalay and Nay Pyi Taw, for a leading retail brand, for secured lending purposes.- Valuation of 46 industrial sites across Myanmar to inform a potential purchase.- Office market research report for a major telecoms company.Verity was also responsible for producing SPS’s quarterly research reports and regular e-publications.

Valuation:Produced valuations and development appraisals of retail, residential and industrial properties in Oxfordshire for mortgage, accounting and Charities Act purposes. Lease Advisory:Advised a number of landlords including The Queen's College and Abingdon Town Council on their commercial portfolios, acting on their behalf in rent review and lease renewal negotiations. Also advised tenants in their negotiations with landlords, saving one retail client from a £10,000 rental increase at lease renewal.Agency:Sold development land and commercial premises in Oxford, and residential properties in Southmoor and Amersham.
