I founded RunVerity in 2014 with a mission to create a safe, supportive, and inclusive running community, breaking down the sometimes intimidating myths often associated with running and what it means to be a “runner.” My goal was to cultivate a space where people of all backgrounds and abilities could thrive, helping them discover the joy of running without the pressure of unrealistic expectations.My own running journey began over 25 years ago when, as a complete beginner, I took up the sport despite having disliked PE in school and believing running wasn’t for “people like me.” Over time, I fell in love with the energy, discipline, and mental health benefits running provided, and I became passionate about sharing those same benefits with others. I was determined to create a community that valued both mental and physical well-being, and built RunVerity into a unique space for runners at all stages of their journey. In 2019, my efforts were recognised when I received the Winchester Sport Awards’ “Changing Lives Through Physical Activity” award.Prior to founding RunVerity, I spent 20 years as a Psychology Teacher, my deep knowledge of human behavior remains integral to my coaching and I apply Behavior Change Techniques throughout my programs, most notably in the award-winning Beginner’s Course, which has transformed countless individuals from non-runners to confident runners.In addition to my work at RunVerity, I offer numerous workshops around running, women's health, confidence building, nutrition and fuelling in running and most recently I have expanded my offerings to deliver customised workshops for companies, designed to support staff well-being and foster a healthier, more balanced work environment. These workshops focus on a variety of topics such as managing menopause in the workplace, improving physical and mental health, and addressing key wellness concerns that impact employee productivity and overall satisfaction. I regularly write about running, fitness, and personal growth offering practical tips, expert insights, and a deeper exploration of topics like women’s health, exercise and aging.
