We control in excess of 20,000 copyrights from more than 200 DJ/Producers.Musiqware's strategy in brief:* Direct membership of collecting societies in numerous countries around the world.* Extensive use of technology to achieve high accuracy and speed for managing music rights.* Being Pro-active: Making sure that societies have correct information, have all necessary information, and have that information in a timely manner.In theory, this strategy should enable the flow of *all* royalties through the ecosystem of collecting societies. Reality is that there are still a lot of inefficiencies at societies that prevent that, but this strategy has certainly proven to maximise the chances for artists to get paid by the societies.

I was appointed to assist the Monitoring Trustee in monitoring Microsoft's compliance with the European Commission's 2004 anti-trust decision against them (See https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Microsoft_Corp_v_Commission).Our remit focused on the Commission's order on Microsoft to provide technical specifications for all their server protocols and interfaces, to allow competition in the workgroup server market.My role was to vet Microsoft's specifications for accuracy, completeness and implementability.

Freelance IT Consulting, mostly to financial services companies, such as ABN Amro, Rabobank International, Mizuho, Credit Suisse, Paribas, JP Morgan, Merrill Lynch, CIBC, etc., but also to BP Exploration, Digital Equipment Co, and the Netherlands' Ministry of Agriculture.Specialised in operating systems, networking, databases, market data distribution, and the management of global infrastructures.

Software company where I designed, developed and supported SMSworks, the first software packaging tool to fully support Windows NT. As part of the support, I provided extensive consultancy on a global scale to companies such as Merrill Lynch, Paribas, Lehman Brothers, Electrabel, DE Shaw & Co, BUPA, GCHQ, CIBC, FCE Bank, and so forth.

Initially developing development tools in C and Dibol for internal use, later head of the VMS support team, supporting customer installations.

Somewhat misguided attempt to become a Chartered Accountant, which I found incredibly boring after a short while. But no regrets about doing this, because I learned a lot of things that were very useful for setting up and running my own companies later in life.
