Dr. ir. Peeter Verlegh is Professor of Marketing (and Head of Department) at Vrije Universiteit Amsterdam. He is also the Editor-in-Chief of the AMA’s Journal of Interactive Marketing.Peeter has an MSc in Food Science, and a PhD in Marketing from Wageningen University (2001), and teaches in Branding, Advertising, and Consumer Behavior at BSc, MSc and MBA levels. Before joining VU Amsterdam, Peeter was on the faculty of the University of Amsterdam and RSM Erasmus University. He guest-lectured among others at ESADE Barcelona, Corvinus University Budapest, Prague School of Economics, and Gedhu College of Business in Bhutan. In 2004, he was a visiting scholar at the University of Colorado in Boulder.Together with collaborators from business and academics, Peeter studies word of mouth, social media, branding and marketing communication. He has advised several brands and organizations on these issues. Peeter serves on the editorial boards of Journal of Consumer Research, International Journal of Research in Marketing, Journal of Advertising, International Journal of Advertising, and International Marketing Review.
