My career began in 1978 with Wauwatosa Realty.I joined Realty Executives in 1986; bought the rights to the franchise for Western Racine county in 1993; did my time having sales associates working with me - training, etc; went back to being "just" an associate at age 65, in 2007. March 1, 2011, I changed direction. I "went independent" opening my Consultation - Referral - Education focused business: Verna Acker Professional Real Estate Services.I work from my home office building a new business based upon my 33 year career. The success of my business has been based upon referrals and reputation. Repeat customers have been my proudest achievemnet over these three-plus decades. It is my goal to be a consultant to buyers and sellers, offering them advice, information, pricing strategies and staging strategies to help them fulfill their real estate goals. An agenda item is to teach agents how to be the best that they can be through one-on-one coaching, mentoring, and small or large group seminars. I'm currently picking up a project I started some time ago - a book about real estate and how to be a success in a highly competitive, snall community market. The name? "From the Trenches"; but that could change. When these goals shown above are successfully moving forward, I will move toward the EDUCATION portion of my future agenda- to establish a real estate school that will focus an pre-license education, newly licensed agent education, and Continuing Education. All of this is fully within the scope of "if the Good Lord is willing and doesn't have other plans for me." I obtained a Bachelor's Degree in Education in the 70s and worked 14 years in the education field. Add to that my 33 years of "education and experience" in the real estate field, I hope to help others to understand this incredible craft and to be successful in the industry - whether buying, selling, or as a professional agent.
