I am delighted to have been working with Johns Associates since November 2018 as Commercial Director, on a part-time basis. (England & Wales).7 year Prisoner Escorting & Court Services contract worth c. £21 million p.a. (Scotland).5 year Juvenile Escorting contract (Youth Justice Board).Four Police Custody contracts of 3 to 5 years duration, all 1st generation outsourcing.Won and Operated contracts in new business sectors for the company (NHS, Forensic Science and Probation services), all 1st generation outsourcing.Led multi-disciplinary teams in tendering for new business. Operations Director for a newly established "Care Services" division.

Won, negotiated and implemented many contracts during a period when company turnover doubled, and profits rose by 350%:New warehouse & supply chain solution for major airline (BA).Greenfield development of National Distribution Centre (NDC) for major toy supplier (Mattel).Strategic logistics review resulting in greenfield automated NDC for major healthcare / drinks manufacturer (Smithkline Beecham).Regional Distribution Centre for fast-moving grocery products (Walker's Crisps).

Led a team of Project Managers and Analysts. Responsible for winning and implementing many warehousing and transport contracts in food and retail sectors. Supported existing operations in improvement projects and contract renewals in UK and France.

Senior Consultant in Logistics.Assignments included strategic reviews, operational improvements to in-house and third-party operations, preparation of Invitation to Tender documents and management of tendering processes.

Joined Rowntree Mackintosh (now Nestle) as a graduate trainee.Initially a Shift Manager, then Production Manager. Commissioned a new factory development for grocery manufacture, consolidating production from several factories into one. Improved operating efficiency, lowered staffing and costs, increased volume by 40% in 2 years. Responsible for up to 200 operatives per shift.From 1983, National Distribution Manager, responsible for in-house and sub-contracted fleets for UK and International distribution.
