Works with management to plan and execute system upgrades/improvements, such as upgrading from: including hardware, operating system software, i.e. OS400 V5R4 to V6R1 and V6R1 to V7R1 , utility software, i.e. connectivity solutions, i.e. configuring Remote Output queues, etc.Installation of new versions in iSeries environments, such as firmware upgrades, HMC upgrades, PTFS installations and 3rd party software upgrades.Support End User Requests from Profile Administration to Work Management issues.Document all iSeries administrator functions for the data center operations staff, such as Restoring Libraries to production and test environments using BRMS.Maintain failover and Disaster Recovery environments.Troubleshoot problems related to the operating system, replication, application and networking infrastructures. Resolving issues with partitions migrated from back version OS lpars, V6r1 to V7R1.Work with ITERA replication audits, and report on objects still needing to be appliedEvaluates Operations and Technical Services procedures to identify inefficiencies,security exposures and procedural problems, and makes recommendations, reviewing SOPs and tasks for data center operationsWrite scripts to automate and streamline system and operation tasks.Perform additional responsibilities as delegated by management staff.
