In his current position of Co-Chief of Staff for Technical Areas (Engineering, Product Engineering and Production), Massimo is currently engaged in ensuring that the company's daily operations run smoothly, acting as a right hand to the CEO, helping with strategic planning, decision-making, and overall management of key initiatives in the context of Civitanavi Systems, an innovative italian technological company which designs and manufactures proprietary inertial systems based on FOG and MEMS devices.Massimo has also the role of Sales Engineering and Proposal Manager, capturing customer requirements and expectations in support of Business Development specialists, organizing, preparing and delivering technical and commercial proposals, and following on with the proposal life-cycle activities up to the Contract Signature or reception of Purchase Orders.Massimo was the former Head of Engineering at Civitanavi Systems, till Nov 2023.Previously Massimo acted as Program Manager in Northrop Grumman Italia for the development and series production of the Inertial Navigation System designed for a multirole combat aircraft. Previously he played the role of Technical Leader in Quadrics, a FINMECCANICA company, specialized in High Performance Scientific and Embedded Computing, where he developed a Mission Computer for the Alenia UAV program.Massimo has cumulated a professional experience of 25 years in the area of Software Engineering in complex scientific and engineering applications, Control System Engineering, Parallel Computing, Avionics Systems and Inertial Navigation, working for major engineering industries (IBM, FINMECCANICA) and for research institutions (National Institute of Nuclear Physics in Frascati, European Southern Observatory in Munich, Germany).He has also taught for 4 years the Operating Systems course as adjunct professor at the University of Rome La Sapienza.His technical background spans the fields of embedded and avionics systems, navigation sensors, program management techniques, software engineering methodologies, control systems and signal processing. He is also very knowledgeable about configuration control and SW certification, as well as quality assurance requirements.Massimo graduated in 1989 in Electronics Engineering, Università degli Studi di Roma “La Sapienza” (Italy).
