Provide oversight and decisions on processes regarding the Family and Medical Leave Act (FMLA), California Family Rights Act (CFRA), Pregnancy Disability Leave (PDL), official leaves of absence, ergonomic assessments, Return-to Work/temporary accommodations, Civil Rights investigations, and Workers' Compensation coordination. Oversee complaints related to driving accidents/citations, department COVID administration, policies and procedures, and participate in non-culpable hearings.

Perform responsible, complex, and specialized technical and analytical human resources functions in the areas of employee and labor relations, recruitment and selection, classification, compensation administration, and other phases of human resources. Prepare training materials for employee development and facilitate training. Confer with departmental officials on human resources practices and assist in the development and establishment of standard personnel practices. Train new employees and serve in a lead capacity over other human resources staff.
