PresidentPuget Sound Emerging Museum Professions May 2022 - PresentAs a young museum professional I focus on the importance of interdisciplinary conversations around the arts, culture, and education. I value a collaborative approach to projects focusing on community building and accessibility. Being on San Diego’s EMP leadership board for a year has motivated me to continue to create a change in equality for emerging museum professionals. Some of the projects that were impactful in our local museum field have been the creation of free career-building resources, such as: a job announcement screening process to ensure emerging professionals are finding a good and equitable workplace, an open panel discussion on IDEA in our local museums, an interview and resume workshop, how to get the museum job and an opportunity for professional headshot. I am eager to bring together a diverse group of museum professionals together to create a warm and welcoming community for all of our members. This fall I will be focusing on creating an entire new board with passionate emerging professionals in the Puget Sound region. -
