Hbar Tutoring is a small company dedicated to providing the best one on one tutoring in Math and Science. We are also branching out into small group classes, thanks to the success of our collaboration with the Institute for Educational Advancement!

I taught Intro Bio and Human Bio in the Health Sciences Dept at Trade Tech

As Department Chair, I oversee the curriculum and support teachers. Working in collaboration with the members of the math department, I seek to promote meaningful experiences that guide students to a depth of knowledge and application of mathematical thinking to questions of the social good.

As a founding faculty of Sequoyah's High School, I developed and taught the following classes: Algebra 1, Geometry, Algebra 2, Precalculus, Calculus, Statistics, and Higher Math. This opportunity allowed me to express my approach to teaching math: a logical sequence grounded in applications but with a focus on the appreciation of the beauty of mathematics.

Being a Teacher and Mentor at Fusion Academy is a fun and challenging exercise in finding creative ways to engage students in Science and Math. As Math Department Head, I support the other Math teachers to do the best job they can by facilitating discussions and sharing strategies for teaching. I also help out with curriculum development, especially for Precalculus!

Students who seek additional instruction in math and science come to the IEA for our Academy program. Our classes run weekends during the school year or for intensive 3 week sessions during the summer and provide motivated middle school students with an opportunity to learn advanced material, such as Neuroscience, Physics, and Chemistry. Starting in the summer of 2014, our classes will be hosted at the Huntington Gardens!

I worked with Jim Haxby studying the neural basis of face and object perception. We used psychophysics, EEG, and fMRI.
